All the pottery is thrown by hand and turned on the wheel
to produce the footring. The handles are applied and the rims
They are fired for the first time.
When the pots come out
of the firing they are like flower pots - strong but porous.
They are dipped in the glaze which gives the white, or cream
The names, dates, images and quotations
are then hand painted on as required and brushwork decoration
placed around the lettering to complete the design.
The base glaze and all the decoration and lettering are then
fired again to stoneware temperature to finish the pot.
For designs including special enamels, lustres or metals (gold
or silver etc) a further firing is required.
